“Comfy place and fun community!”

I booked La Chakana on short notice and found a gem. It’s about a 15 minute walk out of Pisac with a great view, the host Dennis is wonderful and it’s a chill, affable crowd. It’s close to a place with awesome yoga events and classes (Nidra Wasi) and there’s lots to do all around. Love the community kitchen, too. Highly recommend!

“Hot shower, super comfy new mattress, great cafe, and friendly people!”

Went to la cocina to eat fruit and the sweet manager had coffee to share with me and a lovely visit. Not only the staff but the guests are very nice. I really appreciated the super hot shower, the mattress must be 15″ high and oh, so, comfy. The views out the window and private balcony are amazing. It’s easy to catch a cheap mototaxi into el pueblo. So nice to be out in the quiet countryside.

“Loved La Chakana!”

We stayed here one night and loved La Chakana. Gorgeous location, great vibes, the rooms are lovely and equipped with everything you need (plus extra blankets which is great if you’re friolent@, though I didn’t find the room cold at all), and the staff so friendly and helpful. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

“A true home-away-from-home in the Sacred Valley”

After traveling around South America for a bit, it was such a relief to land at La Chakana and feel “home.” The place is incredibly relaxing and you feel truly cared for by both the staff and the other guests. Sarah and Dennis are warm and open-minded but also discerning about their guests as they strive to create a relaxing, comfortable space for all. Your time there can be as familial as you choose for it to be — meaning if you’d like to keep to yourself and have a personal retreat, they, along with the other guests, will be fully respectful of that. But if you want to join for a family-style pasta night and share some food and laughs, that’s an option as well. Everyone that my boyfriend and I encountered during our time there was incredibly kind and eager to share travel tips and answer questions. The kitchen was wonderfully equipped for whatever one might need (the only juicer I encountered during my travels in SA and lots of delicious and healthy shared teas and spices!) and the beds were like clouds complete with cozy blankets for chilly nights in the Sacred Valley. Plus, they’ve got steady hot water and yummy filtered drinking water. It’s just a short walk to town and you can easily catch a ride from a moto if you don’t feel like doing the 15-minute walk. We found it nice to be right outside of town. It’s quiet and peaceful. Truly, it was the people that made this place really stand out. The accommodations are lovely, but it’s the good vibes that linger in my mind. I will definitely stay here when I return and highly recommend it to anyone passing through Pisac! Until next time, Dennis and Sarah!

“An awesome introduction to Peru”

I woke up the first morning, after arriving the evening before exhausted and jet-lagged, and opened the doors to my balcony to a breath-taking view of the Andes, up close & personal. I was so happy I chose La Chakana Pisac – the kitchen is light, bright & clean, and well-fitted, my bed was wonderfully comfortable, & I was especially impressed by a real feather-down comforter. I had a shared bathroom, but only sharing with a couple of other guests, so no problem – and there was always the second one downstairs in an emergency.
