Coaching Retreats

THE RETEAT

After 4 years of researching transformation and breaking out of old belief systems and world view frameworks (intellectually and by experience) and guiding people trough their transformational journey at my guest house, we now offer focussed 7 day retreats. The retreat is inspired by that place, that state of consciousness, where old paradigms break, old frameworks disappear and where new ideas and new insights come to light. This is what happens when we follow our joyful passion & creativity.

Combining the most influential methods for the process of transformation, such as meditation, transpersonal coaching, altered states of awareness, and a supporting community and environment, we created a unique and highly impactful 7 day retreat. In addition, there is the option for you to visit Machu Picchu and to receive post-retreat follow-up coaching sessions.

In order to join one of the retreats, send me an email with the retreat date(s) you are interested in. Or, if the below information still leaves you with questions, drop me an email and we set up a call or video chat to find out if this retreat is a good match for you.

ABOUT ME

Trained as a Dutch medicinal chemist and having spent most of my adult life in science publishing, I have always had a very rational, materialist view of the world and myself. My voice was just one more voice added to the pool of many. It was not until 2011, when I went through a painful separation from my romantic partner of seven years, that I started questioning my life and my belief system.

I started peppering well-known physics and engineering professors at renowned universities such as Harvard, Stanford and Berkeley with existentialist questions of a much deeper nature than the kinds of questions I had once asked. As a publisher of scientific books and journals, these highly respected professors had become friends over the years, yet, even still, I found myself surprised to bear witness to their personal perspective on life and how much we as humans actually “know.” The one thing most of them agreed on is that most of what we experience in the world is still one big mystery.

I realized I wanted to be involved in the cutting edge, most innovative discoveries at the bridge of science, the unknown and our mind. While I was in the process of setting up new scientific journals in collaboration with NASA and UC Berkeley, I also started talking to more mindfulness and “new age” oriented publishers such as New World Library (the publisher of Eckhart Tolle) and Sounds True, and ended up in a publishing collaboration with New Harbinger.

Going into this exploration changed my life forever when I had a spontaneous spiritual experience myself when I met Lissa Rankin (MD) and April Sweazy that shattered all of my rational, materialist belief systems about how this world works and who I am. It woke me up to a spiritual connection I could have never imagined possible to be even true and outside of any scientific framework I was familiar with. The spiritual opening I experienced in California threw me into what transpersonal psychologists call a “spiritual emergency” and Eastern religions refer to as a “Kundalini Awakening” which unraveled my life in the most mysterious ways.

I wound up taking a sabbatical from my career as a scientific publisher and went to Peru as part of my integration process. Here I ended up creating a guest house for people who are going trough the same process I went trough or want to reframe their worldview and break out of the “rat-race” life we often live in big cities. People like myself who want to get out of the resume-building mindset and back into an alignment that is more true to who we are.
